CUSTOM FORMULA

This was my first order from Foods For Gut, and I'm impressed! I recently discovered the company and had previously ordered custom formulas from Custom Probiotics. Nothing against that company, but Foods for Guts has a lot more species from which to select.

My dog developed pancreatitis due to dysbiosis in the small intestine. I suspect a lot of pancreatitis cases are caused by this, but vets tend to blame fat in the diet. A simple blood test for folate will diagnose dysbiosis, although my dog also had an abdominal ultrasound, which showed that only the small intestine was inflamed, not the pancreas or any other organs.

I had another dog several years ago with the same issue caused by an antibiotic and permanently cured by a probiotic for dogs I got on Amazon, no change in the diet, prey model raw, required. This time I ordered this much better custom formula, and my dog was cured in just two days, although I will likely continue to give it to him for life, especially since he is small and takes just a few sprinkles of it once a day.

I chose ten species known to ameliorate dysbiosis: all six Bifido Bacterium species, Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus coagulans, Saccharomyces Boulardii, and Akkermansia Muciniphila.

The shipment arrived in only a couple of days and was still cold during hot summer weather. The inclusion of the small metal spoons was a plus.

One suggestion I have is to add the strain number to each of the species they offer.
