  • Is your facility registered and approved by FDA (Foods and Drug Administration)?

  • What are Probiotics?
Probiotics are living microorganisms sometimes called "friendly bacteria" or "good bacteria," that provide health benefits when consumed. They play a crucial role in maintaining gut health, digestion, and overall well-being.
  • Are Foods For Gut probiotics freeze-dried?
Yes, all of our probiotic powders are Freeze-dried. This process kills the bacteria and yeast but leaves their DNA behind. When the freeze-dried probiotics are ingested, the live bacteria are released, and they begin to grow again. This helps them to colonize the gut and improve gut health.
  • Can you ship Foods For Gut Products in hot temperatures?
Absolutely, freeze-dried bacteria resist and hold up well in warm weather conditions. This process helps to preserve the beneficial bacteria and makes them easier to transport. With our probiotics you can travel for a couple weeks without refrigeration. However, when possible, we always recommend a refrigerator or freezer for storage and while in use.
  • Can I travel with Foods for Gut Products without refrigeration?
Absolutely, you can travel for several weeks without refrigeration for a very minimal loss. However, to maintain maximum potency, it is always best if kept refrigerated.
  • What are the differences between powdered probiotics and capsules?
The capsules contain the same freeze-dried probiotics as the powders. It is a matter of personal preference to decide which one is best for you. However, the powders allow you to use and to control the amount you desire. Another advantage is that sometimes, powders are a better option for people who have trouble swallowing capsules.
  • Do you ship with an ice pack?
No, because all Foods For Gut probiotic strains are freeze-dried and are able to resist warm temperatures during transit.
  • What kind of diet should I follow while taking probiotics?
We recommend a sugar-free diet, healthy fats, chicken, fish, grass-fed meat and organic vegetables. However, it is always best to consult your doctor or nutritionist for more detailed medical information.
  • Can travelers benefit from Probiotics?
Yes, we highly recommend travelers to take probiotics 3-5 days prior to their departure, especially to third world countries where sometimes there is a high chance they might end up getting exposed to bacteria and pathogens that cause diarrhea. We also recommend taking probiotics during the trip and 2-3 weeks after returning home.
  • Why do bottle sizes and probiotic powders vary in appearance?
Our probiotic powders are offered in quantities of 30 gram or 60 gram using Amber Glass 150CC or 200CC bottle sizes. Probiotic powders vary in volume, texture, and appearance while some strains are light and fluffy other are high in density. This is the reason why some products appear fuller in comparison. The label on the bottle states the amount contained of each product.
  • Do probiotics survive stomach acid?
Taking probiotics on an empty stomach can increase their chances of survival as the stomach’s acidity is relatively lower. For this reason, we recommend taking our probiotics first in the morning or at bedtime 2 hours after the last meal of the day. However, it is always best to consult your doctor or nutritionist for more detailed medical information.
  • What is a good dosage?
When it comes to dosage it is really difficult to tell what dosage is right for you because every person is unique. Since our probiotic powders are high in potency, we recommend starting with a low dosage and increase gradually until you find the right dosage that provides your desired results. Please check the Dosage & Directions tab found under each product description page for more information. It is always best to consult your doctor or nutritionist for more detailed medical information.
  • What time of day should I consume probiotics?

  • Why does the probiotic powder look clumpy and didn't mix well in water?
Probiotics vary in texture, appearance, and taste. While some strains are fluffy and dissolve easily in water, other strains that are high in density that don't seem to dissolve easily in water. For this reason, we recommend using any size thermal cup or shaker with a lid and pour your desired amount of water and probiotic powder and shake well for less than a minute and then consume.
  • Do probiotics have side effects?
While probiotic supplements are considered safe, there is a possibility that you'll experience side effects while taking them, especially in the beginning. Upset stomach, bloating, gas and diarrhea are common (and usually mild) side effects that resolve fairly quickly. If symptoms become too uncomfortable, you can reduce your dosage until they subside and then try slowly increasing to the full dosage or your doctor's specific recommendation.
  • Can the probiotic powder change in appearance?
When using our products, we highly recommend keeping them stored properly as indicated on bottle label. This means avoid any moisture getting inside the bottle, so it doesn't change from powder form to a solid appearance. Therefore, it is important to keep the cap closed tightly when stored. When scooping the probiotic out of the bottle by using the spoons or utensils, they must be completely dry to avoid moisture getting inside the bottle. The probiotic is still effective, but we recommend following our recommendations to avoid change in appearance.
  • Can I consume probiotics with antibiotics?
Yes, probiotics should be consumed during and for 1-2 weeks post antibiotic therapy to fully restore and recover your gut microflora and minimize the opportunity for antibiotic-related side effects. We recommend taking probiotics 2-3 hours before or after taking antibiotics. Please consult your doctor for more detailed information related to probiotics and antibiotics.
